A PEOPLE OF LOVE

KEY SCRIPTURE/MEMORY VERSE: 1 Corinthians 13:3(NKJV)
Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up;
5. does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil;
6. does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth;
7. bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
I Corinthians 13 does an amazing job of showing us how our love ought to be expressed.
See how verses 4-7 outlines it from our text.
That’s you friends!
You don’t want to receive tolerance and not give tolerance. Love believes all things, it hopes all things.
When you are corrected, rebuked, spoken to, love receives it.
Look, this lesson is so important because we are a people of love. Love is the foundation of everything we do as believers. Paul says we are nothing without love.
I pray for you that God gives you a heart to love and that you don’t hold on to dysfunctional systems or to self.
You won’t say, “Oh I’m not this kind of person, if I express love this way, it would feel pretentious.”
No, it’s not about your ability.
Allow the Holy Spirit work in you and express this love through you.
And above all else, be grounded in the conviction that we are a people of love so this is more natural to us than how our flesh feels.
REFLECTION
I won’t love from self or dysfunctions because I have received the heart to love.
DECLARATION
-I believe in the good news of the gospel. That in the giving of Jesus, I am now a beneficiary of God’s grace.
-The gospel is the grace of God. I am thankful for the grace of God.
-I have come into a progressive revelation of all that the grace of God reveals.
-The cross is the proof of God’s love for me.
-I am secure in my identity as a believer so my love is not a function of others. I love because of who I am.
-I find it easy to love. Love is my identity so I express it. I refuse to reduce my identity to nothing.
-I don’t love from self. It is never about glory or satisfaction for me rather it is the love of God shining through.
-As God increases my capacity to love through the people and circumstances He brings my way, I pass the test.
-The love I express embodies what the Holy Spirit works in me. I have received a heart to love and I love from that place.
-My love abounds more and more.
