YOU DON’T HAVE TO LOOK THE PART

KEY SCRIPTURE/MEMORY VERSE: 2 Corinthians 4:7 (NKJV)
But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us.

If the believer doesn’t come to the awareness that the demonstration of the power of God on the cross is a sign of what is at work in him/her and expresses it, there is no need for God to demonstrate His power by the resurrection of Jesus from the dead.
So God is saying, everything I’m going to demonstrate is what you can express.

What that means is that if we can see the power of God in the resurrection of Jesus, if we can see it in the sitting of Jesus at the right hand of God, exalted, then we are expected to express that power as believers.
The truth is, there will always be opportunities for you to demonstrate that power. The opportunity to release the power that is inside you will always show itself and God is always proud when His chidlren display that they are heirs of this power.
He has told the world how He has endowed you with power so it is pleasing to Him when you express that power.

Our text tells us that the excellency of this power is of God, not of us.
Now, what this scripture mean?
It’s acknowledging the fact that we are frail, made out of dust, that we are not perfect and still a work in progress but there is a treasure inside of us!
That treasure is the power of God that is revealed by the gospel.

Listen, you must never get caught in the thought trap that the expression of the power comes from the perfection of the vessel. You must never think that the manifestation of the resurrection power of God has anything to do with your vessel.
That is why, it says the excellence of the power may be of God.
No doubt, the power within influences your vessel but it doesn’t originate from your vessel.
So don’t look at yourself and judge yourself that you cannot be eligible to express God’s power because you are not like this person or that person.
You may not look the part but the power is in you.
This is why you don’t need to rehearse or warm up or feel “ready” before praying for the sick because the power that is demonstrated is already in you and is not about you or what you look like on the outside.

REFLECTION
Have I been judging my ability to manifest God’s power because I don’t look the part?

DECLARATION
-I believe in the good news of the gospel. That in the giving of Jesus, I am now a beneficiary of God’s grace.
-The gospel is the grace of God. I am thankful for the grace of God.
-I have come into a progressive revelation of all that the grace of God reveals.
-The cross is the proof of God’s love for me.
-The cross is the highest demonstration of God’s power.
-I have resurrection power in me.
-The resurrection of Jesus is proof that I can be an expression of that same power.
-I have come into a revelation of the resurrection power and I express it. I seize opportunities to demonstrate that power.
-There is treasure inside me that qualifies me to manifest this power. I refuse to be judged by the thought that my vessel is not perfect or doesn’t look the part.
-The treasure of God’s power within me does not originate from me but is in me and influences me.
Hallelujah!
