BUILD WITH THE WORD
10th September 2020
Dr. Phil Ransom-Bello
KEY SCRIPTURE/MEMORY VERSE: Jeremiah 1:9-10(NKJV)
Then the Lord put forth His hand and touched my mouth, and the Lord said to me: “Behold, I have put My words in your mouth. See, I have this day set you over the nations and over the kingdoms, To root out and to pull down, To destroy and to throw down, To build and to plant.”
The concept of believing correctly covers every area of our lives.
Look, you have to believe right even about relationships. You have to believe right about your capacities. Who told you that because you’ve been victimized for too long or had your trust broken, that all the capacity to love has disappeared?
See, if care is not taken, people’s experiences can change you and before you know it, you have brought in a new idea, you have legislated a new, alternative concept of who God is.
Friends, what I’m saying is basically wheat and tares and you must be able to differentiate. Sometimes, it might be painful to stay with the concept of wheat, the concept of the word of God, especially in the face of what has happened but you have to.
Ask yourself whose report would you believe.
I believe the report of the Lord. That’s what I do.
Scripture says, you have not strived unto bloodshed yet in the fight of your faith. (Hebrews 12:4)
See our text today.
You must know what has happened to you as a believer.
That passage says, “to build and to plant…” but what does it say has been put in your mouth?
Words.
So you build with words.
But it doesn’t stop there, it says you also pull down with words, meaning what was in existence was words too.
That is to say, the thing, the idea that is standing in your mind is a word that has grown to become a concept and you have been enslaved by it.
And before you knew it, you started acting out a principle, acting out a life that is inconsistent with your identity.
Hear me child of God, the key is to stay with the WORD and use it to frame your life.
REFLECTION
What ideas or concepts have enslaved my mind and caused me to act out wrong principles?
DECLARATION
-I believe in the good news of the gospel and my life is hinged on the truth of the gospel.
-I am deliberate about my thought life. I refuse to wield any thought power to the devil to influence me with tricky ideas.
-I will not be ignorant of the devil’s tricks and strategies. I see through the obvious and I look beyond the surface of any and every idea.
-The seed of God’s word finds good ground in me. I’m not deceived by look alikes that try to sell concepts that are not of God to me.
-I know what is correct and I do not invest in or fuel the wrong concepts. I believe the report of the Lord.
-I will not be changed by experiences nor allow my capacities to be affected.
-I will not legislate lies or give strength to what is not the truth about my identity by believing wrongly.
-I build with the word and I pull down opposing, pre-existing ideas.
-I stay with the word so I am not enslaved by alternative ideas that can make me act out the wrong principle or life.
-I hold fast to the profession of my faith and because of the already concluded victory of Christ, I win always!
Hallelujah!
