WHO’S YOUR GOVERNOR?
19th July 2020
Dr. Phil Ransom-Bello

KEY SCRIPTURE/MEMORY VERSE: 1 John 2:5(NKJV)
But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him..

Yesterday, we learnt that it is important for the believer to drop like hot potatoes, whatever standpoint or narrative does not line up with God’s word.
And we need to emphasize this.
Determine within your heart that you will be governed by the word of God. Fully and completely.
Whatever posture you carry, because you know the postures or positions you’ve taken on certain issues, so whatever posture doesn’t line up with God’s word, drop it.
Just drop it.
Don’t hold on to what you know is not God’s word.

The question you must always ask yourself is- Who really governs me? The WORD or the WORLD?
If it’s the word, what does God’s word say about this?
What is He saying?
You’ve got to let the word of God be the final judgement for you on any matter.

That is, if you’re gonna make a decision or take a step, or talk to someone, if you’re angry, if you’re hungry, if you’re lonely or tired or frustrated or sad or broke or depressed or even happy, whatever it is, make sure God’s word is the governor.

Friends, let us look at the sum of your decisions or actions and be able to tell what governs you.
Let it be clear that you are not tolerant of other governing influences outside of the word.
Be governed by the word of God.

REFLECTION
The word of God governs me absolutely. No room for any other influences.

DECLARATION
-I believe in the good news of the gospel, that the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus has announced the provision of forgiveness of my sins.
-I don’t just know the gospel, I live the gospel. I am transformed by the gospel. The gospel is working through me.
-The hearing of the gospel produces the fruits of Genuine Faith, Love for all the Saints and Hope of a Guaranteed Future in me.
-The fruits of the gospel are not a product of my ability but are generated supernaturally.
-The fruit of the gospel ensures that only what gave me life, sustains me by ensuring that my life is governed by the word of God.
-My life only lives up to the standard of the gospel. No other standard is permitted to give my life direction.
-I drop like hot potatoes any standpoint or opinion or narratives that does not line up with the truth of the gospel.
-I hold on to only what God’s word says over any issue. God’s word is the final judgement over me. There is no room for external influences.
-The governorship of God’s word over my life is absolute and irrespective of the situation, good or bad.
-My life testifies of my intolerance to any rule that is not the rule of God’s word.
-I am governed by the word of God.
Hallelujah!
