KEY SCRIPTURE/MEMORY VERSE: II Corinthians 2:10 (NKJV)
lest Satan should take advantage of us; for we are not ignorant of his devices.

Welcome to a new month!
Yesterday, we talked about how important it is to challenge your perspective with the truth of the gospel rather than challenging the truth because it’s different from what you are used to.
Today, I want to talk to you about pulling down strongholds, that is, opinions or narratives that exalt themselves against the knowledge of Christ.
But you see, it’s easy to pull things down when you identify them, isn’t it?
So we need to identify some of these strongholds that need to come down.

In our text today, Paul speaks about Satan taking advantage of the believer if he or she is ignorant of his devices or strategies.
Do you know what it means to take advantage of someone?
When you say you take advantage of somebody, it means playing on the ignorance of somebody or benefitting from the person’s weakness, to their detriment.

So taking advantage of a person is negative and when you do that, you play with the person’s deficit.
That because the person is deficient in some way, might be knowledge or strength, you prey on that.
Now that passage says, “Lest Satan should take advantage of us, for we are not ignorant of his devices”
So in this context, taking advantage is in the context of knowledge. It’s about something you know or don’t know.

Listen, Satan has not changed the way he behaves. He has not changed his modus operandi from the beginning up until now.
This is why it is interesting that people react to him based on superstitious mindsets about who he is.
Yes, it’s true that as believers, you need to renew your mind on who you are but it is also important to renew your mind on who the devil is because for you to be able to stand against your enemy, you need to understand how he thinks.
Let truth always win over superstitions.

When you go to fish, you need to study the patterns in fish behaviour. If a specie of fish only comes out at nighttime, then you have no business fishing in the daytime.

Friends, to defeat Satan, you must be able to see his strategies before it comes.
The believer must be proactive not reactive.

REFLECTION
Have I been reacting to the devil based on superstition or am I truly knowledgeable about his strategies?

DECLARATION
-I believe in the good news of the gospel and my life is hinged on the truth of the gospel.
-I let go of any tendencies to challenge the truth. Rather, I challenge my perspectives with the truth of the gospel.
-I identify strongholds of narratives and perspectives that exalt themselves against the knowledge of Christ and I pull them down.
-I will not be ignorant of the devil’s tricks and strategies. The devil finds no room or deficit in my life to take advantage of.
-I am growing in the knowledge and revelation of who I am in Christ.
-I am deliberate to renew my mind on the truth of who God says I am and I am careful to understand Satan’s methods.
-I am equipped by the truth and so I win over superstitions!
-I stay aware of the devil’s strategies and I am proactive to respond to it. Nothing catches me by surprise so I am not reactive. I am above only.
-Because of the already concluded victory of Christ, I win always!
Hallelujah!
