STAY IN YOUR RESPONSE
10TH MARCH 2020
Dr. Phil Ransom-Bello

KEY SCRIPTURE/MEMORY VERSE: Isaiah 54:17 (NKJV)
No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord , And their righteousness is from Me,” Says the Lord.

One way I have had to learn to deal with the natural response to complain is to apply a simple life tool.
Rather than complaining, I SEE the promise, SAY it and then REST.
If you do this, you would hardly be a complaining person.
And when you are resting, keep resting. Deliberately.
I say this because the intrusion of your mind will try to take you out of the rest that you have.

While resting, make sure that you are not resting because the problem is solved. Rather, you are resting because you are contemplating on the promise. That’s how you stop complaining.
So when you are faced with life’s challenges, things are not working well, certain prayer requests you are yet to see the answers, contemplate more on the promise.
Begin to think word-of-God thoughts.

Our text today, highlights the fact that there are weapons formed uniquely for each person and this is why you shouldn’t make judgments when someone else falls because the weapon for believer A may not affect believer B.

What is this weapon?
It goes on to describe what the weapon is.
It says, “…and every tongue that rises against you…”. So that’s the weapon.
Tongues are words spoken to your heart. And when you begin to contemplate or consider or ponder on them, those thoughts form to become a weapon against you. So the longer time you give those words, the stronger the weapon. You see someone who has held on for so long suddenly breaking down. It’s not that there was a different word that came but because he contemplated severally what he should not have been thinking about.

So words came against you, what do you with them? You condemn.
YOU, yes, You are the one to condemn. How? By thinking more of the promise.

09The question is- What are you thinking about? The problem or the promise?
When the thoughts of the problem come, counter it with thoughts of the promise.
And continue to think thoughts of the promise.
That’s how to guard your heart and overcome the cycle of rising and falling, overcoming today and giving up tomorrow.

REFLECTION
What am I contemplating on?

DECLARATION
-I am born of God. This is my confidence that I have overcome the world.
-Because I am united with Christ, His victory is my victory. What He defeated, I defeated too.
-I have been made the righteousness of God. Therefore, my response to the weapon of negative thoughts or challenges are far superior.
-I am swift to counter thoughts of the problem with thoughts of promise.
-My default posture is rest. My contemplations come from the place of resting on the promise.
-Daily, I am deliberate in the practice of guarding my heart with word-of-God thoughts.
-Today, I enjoy daily benefits and testimonies abound for me because the Gospel works. Hallelujah!
