TAKE RESPONSIBILITY
30th August 2020
Dr. Phil Ransom-Bello

KEY SCRIPTURE/MEMORY VERSE: Luke 10:27(NKJV)
So he answered and said, “ ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind,’ and ‘your neighbor as yourself.’ ”

The primary element of the believer’s love walk is the fact that it is unconditional.
You’re not loving because someone deserved it or is ready for it. You are not forgiving because the person was remorseful.
No, you are loving from whom you are, from your identity.
And like we established in the past few days, you don’t love from self but by the Holy Spirit expressing through you.

For someone, it’s a case of, “How can I trust when I’ve been betrayed?”
Look, the fact that I’ve been betrayed doesn’t mean my capacity to give trust is affected.
If you betray my trust, it is on you.
It doesn’t mean I can’t trust again. I’m going to look for who I can trust again because I am secured in my identity.
No one should make me feel that my trust is affected or defected because of an experience.

Listen, stop blaming others, you are not the only one who has gone through stuff so you must understand that you need to take responsibility. I have made the decision to take responsibility for the challenges I may face in relationships with others.

So friends, love is always going to give not take. Just like the father.
Today, decide that you will take responsibility for your love walk.

REFLECTION
Is my love capacity affected by previous or negative experiences?

DECLARATION
-I believe in the good news of the gospel. That in the giving of Jesus, I am now a beneficiary of God’s grace.
-The gospel is the grace of God. I am thankful for the grace of God.
-I have come into a progressive revelation of all that the grace of God reveals.
-The cross is the proof of God’s love for me.
-I am secure in my identity as a believer so my love is not a function of others. I love because of who I am.
-I find it easy to love. Love is my identity so I express it. I refuse to reduce my identity to nothing.
-I don’t love from self. The love I express embodies what the Holy Spirit works in me. I have received a heart to love and I love from that place.
-My love walk is unconditional. I refuse to hold onto unforgiveness. I let go and I forgive.
-My capacity to trust is not affected when it is broken or betrayed.
-I take responsibility for my love walk regardless of the challenges. I am going to love no matter what.
-The character of my love is that it always gives just like the Father.
Hallelujah!
