But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

If scripture says that the proof that we are born-again is our love for the brethren, then it is something to dwell on and break down because sometimes, believers don’t grasp the full import of what it means to show love.
I’m not saying show love to those you like.
How different are you from the unbeliever if you love only those you like?
You’re not different.

It’s like when Jesus says in Matthew 5:20;
“…except your righteousness exceeds that of the Pharisees,”
In essence, if your love doesn’t exceed that of the unbeliever, then you don’t understand what Christ has done for you.
You know, there are some people who choose whom they love.

Now sincerely, I have a personal preference for certain kinds of people. That is, I like some kinds of people but I realize that if I say I’m a believer, I must not have a narrow parameter of persons or personality type that I should like.
I should love everybody.
If some of you were given a position of leadership, many people won’t come to church again because of who you are.
True love is always tested when you are in power, when you have a choice to do it or not to do it.

So we must realize that if the love of God was demonstrated on the cross, you must be an expression of love. You can’t hold back on celebrating your brother because you think you aren’t close or don’t know him.
Listen, you don’t need to know him or her to love them!
The world has taught us that when you say, “I love you”, it’s because you want to have something to do with the person but that’s a wrong philosophy.

Listen, you don’t love because of the person, you love because of you.
Because of who you are.
Scripture says while we were still sinners, God demonstrated His love towards us.
It means that the love of God was expressed to me when I didn’t even have the capacity to receive it and it’s because of who God is.
So that someone isn’t ready for my love doesn’t mean I should stop loving because Jesus didn’t wait until I was ready before He loved me.
He loved me in spite of.
Friends, let your love be like this.

Is my love for others determined by knowing them or any other conditions or determined by who I am?

-I believe in the good news of the gospel. That in the giving of Jesus, I am now a beneficiary of God’s grace.
-The gospel is the grace of God. I am thankful for the grace of God.
-I have come into a progressive revelation of all that the grace of God reveals.
-The cross is the proof of God’s love for me.
-God demonstrated His love, this highest demonstration while I was undeserving.
-My understanding of the love God has demonstrated to me empowers me to love.
-I don’t love only those I know or like. I love different from the world.
-I love regardless of personality type.
-My love mirrors the kind of love God demonstrated towards me.
-I don’t love because of others or their response to my love, I love because of who I am.
-I have love for the brethren, always.
