KEY SCRIPTURE/MEMORY VERSE: Proverbs 4:23(NKJV)
Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life.

To maximize a product, you need to understand the mind of the manufacturer. In the same way, we must know, as believers, the intent of God for our heart and the inner workings of our heart.

Acts 2:37 highlights the first property of the heart as the seat of conscience.
Here, we see that the words those men heard, pricked their conscience and convicted them with the desire to get saved.

Listen, it is so important to understand this because it arms you with the right ammunition to guard your heart.
If you are aware that the state of your heart can be affected or influenced by the conscience, it prepares you ahead to filter what goes on in your conscience through the lens of the truth of God’s love and promise to you as a believer.

Scripture in 1 John 3:20-21, tells us that we can be confident and assured of God’s love even when our heart condemns us or makes us feel guilty because God is greater than our hearts.

Secondly, the heart is the seat of courage (2 Samuel 17:10) When the Bible describes courage, it often likens it to the strength of your heart.
Like David, you must know that God is the strength of your heart(Psalm 73:26).
In Joshua 14:8, Caleb recounts the story of how the report of the spies that were sent to explore the land of Canaan frightened the heart of the Israelites and they lost courage to go obtain the promised land but he chose to follow God wholeheartedly.

Also, the heart is the seat of desire(Matthew 6:21). The things you long for actually show us where your heart is.

The heart conversation is a key conversation for our lives as believers. So you must get your heart right.
There’s an aspect of manufacturing that ensures that a product meets certain criteria/standards. It’s called quality control.
Dear believer, be a quality control officer over your conscience, courage and desires.

REFLECTION
Am I deliberate about ensuring that what goes on in my conscience, my desires and courage mirrors the heart of God for me?
