The conversation of the fruits that the gospel bears would be incomplete if we don’t talk about the fruit of the Spirit. And as we established in the beginning, it’s the Spirit that generates these fruits in us. So it’s all intertwined.
Galatians 5:22-23 is a common passage of the Bible. It tells us the fruit that the Spirit of God bears in the believer, in varied expressions. Many of us even grew up reciting it as a song.
Love, Joy, Peace…
Do you know that one of the ways you know someone is really saved is peace?
I once knew of a lady, the moment she received the gospel and got filled with the Holy Spirit, there was a notable transformation in her personality. For someone who is very brash and aggressive, you could see an aura of peace.
Back in the days, our fathers would tell us that when they got saved, they felt peace.
It was like a standard.
That peace.
Another expression of the fruit of the Spirit is Joy. If you are always sad and down, reach out for this because it’s in you already.
One of the ways you know people who are not joyful, is that they are hardly talking, singing or meditating on the goodness of God. They are always complaining, always sad, always moody.
Look, say to yourself- I Have JOY!
Affirm for yourself- I’ve got JOY!
Joy like a river.
The joy of the Spirit.
Hallelujah!
Friends, reach out and lay ahold of the fruit that the Spirit bears in you. It’s a key indicator that you have received the gospel.
REFLECTION
Do I reach out for the fruit of the Spirit in me?
DECLARATION
-I believe in the good news of the gospel, that the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus has announced the provision of forgiveness of my sins.
-I don’t just know the gospel, I live the gospel. I am transformed by the gospel. The gospel is working through me.
-The hearing of the gospel produces the fruits of Genuine Faith, Love for all the Saints and Hope of a Guaranteed Future in me.
-The fruits of the gospel are not a product of my ability but are generated supernaturally.
-The fruit that the gospel bears is expressed by the fruit of the Spirit.
-The fruit of the Spirit is in me already.
-My life is yielded to consistently reach out for the fruit in all its many expressions.
-My life bears a notable transformation because of the fruit of the Spirit being expressed in me.
-I have PEACE.
-I have JOY! The joy of the Spirit.
