THE GOSPEL OF GRACE
7th August 2020
Dr. Phil Ransom-Bello

KEY SCRIPTURE/MEMORY VERSE: Romans 1:16(NKJV)
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.

We can’t talk about the gospel without talking about the grace of God.
The Gospel is the grace of God(Galatians 1:6)
And when we talk about grace, it is interesting to note that with respect to numbers, symbolically, five is the number of grace.
Oh I’m so glad that we are beneficiaries of this grace.
Oh Hallelujah!
How many of you are grateful to God for the grace you received in Christ?

In talking about the grace of God, there are 5 key truths/revelations that the grace of God expresses. These five are summarized in the grace of God;
▪The Power of God is revealed.
▪The Wisdom of God is revealed.
▪The Righteousness of God is being revealed.
▪The Peace of God is being revealed.
▪The Love of God is revealed.

And you know, we see the demonstration of these five revelations in the cross.
Without a doubt, the cross of Jesus is the site of the demonstration of the power of God, the wisdom of God, the righteousness of God, the peace of God and the love of God.
The cross is the highest expression of each of these. Think about it!
It is the highest expression of God’s power, wisdom, righteousness, peace and love.
What better medium could have painted the magnitude of God’s power and wisdom to save mankind?(1 Corinthians 1:18-25)
What else could have displayed clearly His righteousness in making the sinner righteous? (Romans 3:25-26)
And what else could have served as proof of the love of God as significantly as the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross?(Romans 5:8)

There’s a reason Paul makes the bold statement he made in Romans 1:16. And this is the position on the gospel that every believer needs to take.
He says the gospel is the power of God unto salvation

Friends, God has expressed His lavish, fully-loaded grace to you in this gospel.
You are a qualified beneficiary.
Lay hold of all it’s benefits.

REFLECTION
Does my life reflect an understanding of the provisions of God’s grace to me?
