REDUCED TO RUBBLE
16th April 2020
Dr. Phil Ransom-Bello

KEY SCRIPTURE/MEMORY VERSE: Hebrews 9:22(NKJV)
And according to the law, almost all things are purified with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no remission.

One major reality or merit of the blood that has been emphasized in the last couple of days is the fact of our redemption(Ephesians 1:7). Because of the blood, the believer can walk in the reality that we have crossed the lines of sickness, bondage and the curse.
That is to say, you are not under any curse or subject to the influence of any curse.

It’s always interesting to see how God unveiled the master plan of the cross intentionally, leaving no stone unturned. You see, in Christ, God fulfilled every demand of the law.
Think about it- have you ever wondered why they didn’t just stab Jesus or inject Him with a substance that would make His heart stop?
As they say in our local parlance- All die na die
So, why die by hanging?

If we trace back to the old testament(Deuteronomy 21:23), we will find that there was a curse on anyone who hangs on a tree. So Jesus had to die that kind of death to take on the curse (Galatians 3:13). And when He died on that tree, He took the curse away!
Glory to God!
Dear believer, there is no curse on you or operating in your life.
So when the conversation of generational curses comes up, you must know that you’ve been redeemed from every curse.
Oh Hallelujah!

Now hear this, not only has the blood provided eternal reconciliation, not only have we crossed the lines, by the blood, we have also received remission of sins(Matthew 26:28). This is different from atonement, because to atone is to cover but remission speaks of blotting out, wiping out.
Jesus’s blood didn’t just deliver you from the acts of sin, it delivered you from what produces the sin and what the sin leaves behind.

You know, what we are often concerned with, are the acts of sin- lying, killing, adultery, stealing etc.
But there is something that causes the sin i.e the power of sin and something it leaves behind which is the residue of sin.
It’s like a bakery or factory, if you destroy the bread or biscuits already produced, so long as the bakery or factory is still standing, it can produce some more bread or biscuits the next day.
Look! Jesus’s blood destroyed the factory! It destroyed the nature of sin that produces the actions. Your ability to produce sin has been reduced to rubble.
The sin nature is dead!

Friends, if God did this, certainly, it is impossible for you to continue living in sin(Romans 6:1)
God forbid!
You’ve got victory now!

REFLECTION
Do I live by the consciousness of my victory over sin?
