WATCH OUT FOR LOOK ALIKES

KEY SCRIPTURE/MEMORY VERSE: II Corinthians 2:10 (NKJV)
lest Satan should take advantage of us; for we are not ignorant of his devices.
When we looked at that passage of the parable of the wheat and tares in Matthew 13 yesterday, we saw that we can’t differentiate between both until harvest time.
Why? Harvest time is the period of delivery when you are to show if what you’ve believed is right or wrong.
It is when it is time to deliver that we know if what you believed all the while was true.
And you see, the difference between the wheat and the tares is this; because the wheat bears fruit, it bends over with the weight but the tares stand up straight so it’s only at harvest time you can tell the difference. But while they are growing, they look similar.
Here’s my point- often, the devices of Satan may not be easily differentiated from the counsel of God, the words spoken from God might be sound similar to the devil’s alternative ideas.
If you remember, the parable before this parable of the wheat and the tares is the parable of the sower who went to sow (Matthew 13:18-22), some fell on good ground, others on rocky ground, some by the wayside. That was the conversation.
What is this seed? The seed there is not mango seed, Jesus explained further that the seed is the word of God. So if the wheat is the word of God, what then is the tares? Something that looks like the word of God.
So Satan’s device is to bring you a word that is not the Word. It’s to bring you a concept that is not God but looks like God.
Can you see how he edited God in the conversation he had with Eve in the garden?(Genesis 3:1-5)
“Did God really say you can’t eat of the fruit and you’ll die if you do? He knows that you will become like Him and if you become like God, you would be able to differentiate between good and evil.”
Listen, that was not God’s idea! They were already like God, made in His image.
But he was selling another idea to them that questioned their identity.
Here’s my submission friends, when Satan is tempting you, drop all those mindsets or ideas that he will come in the night to oppress you or he will come with horns. No forget that.
Get with the program and come to the realization that he will twist the concept of God’s word till you stop believing what you used to believe.
So watch out for look alikes.
REFLECTION
Do I see through ideas or thoughts or am I tricked by the similarity to God’s idea?
DECLARATION
-I believe in the good news of the gospel and my life is hinged on the truth of the gospel.
-I am deliberate about my thought life. I refuse to wield any thought power to the devil to influence me with tricky ideas.
-I will not be ignorant of the devil’s tricks and strategies. I am grounded in the revelation of my identity and do not entertain tests designed to prove my identity.
-I see through the obvious and I look beyond the surface of any and every idea.
-The seed of God’s word finds good ground in me. I’m not deceived by look alikes that try to sell concepts that are not of God to me.
-I hold fast to the profession of my faith and because of the already concluded victory of Christ, I win always!
