TRICKY IDEAS

KEY SCRIPTURE/MEMORY VERSE: II Corinthians 2:10 (NKJV)
lest Satan should take advantage of us; for we are not ignorant of his devices.
If Satan is all about the idea, which he seeks to influence minds with, then he is not more powerful than the way you think.
Frankly, his success is dependent on how much thought power you wield to him.
The way you think, your thoughts are powerful!
Listen, no one can grow beyond his mind.
In fact, when God blesses you to a certain degree, you can reduce that blessing to the size of your mind so it’s important that your mind is always expanding everyday, being renewed by the truth.
If you stay around small thinking things, things that are limiting and small in size compared to your identity, these experiences will narrow your mind. You must watch it!
Think about it- How many of us used to believe certain things and then stopped believing after awhile?
There was a way your mind worked, but afterwhile, it got narrower about certain truths.
Friends, it is a device!
Another translation of our text says wiles .
We are not ignorant of his wiles. What are wiles?
Wiles are tricks so scripture says we are not to be ignorant of the devil’s tricks.
Guess what? His tricks look like what you believe, they even look like the truth itself. But they are actually designed to get you to question the truth you know in favour of the alternative idea he is suggesting.
So we must be careful.
Stay with the truth and be on the alert for alternative ideas.
Don’t allow tricky ideas narrow your heart instead let your heart be enlarged with the truth.
REFLECTION
In what ways or areas of my life have I opened up room in my mind to alternative, tricky ideas?
DECLARATION
-I believe in the good news of the gospel and my life is hinged on the truth of the gospel.
-I am deliberate about my thought life. I refuse to wield any thought power to the devil to influence me with tricky ideas.
-I will not be ignorant of the devil’s tricks and strategies. I understand his nature as cunning and I am watchful of his counsel to get me to question the truth of my identity.
-My mind is expanding everyday, being renewed by the truth of God’s word.
-I guard against experiences and limitations and small thoughts that are designed to narrow my mind on the truth.
-I stay with the truth of my identity in Christ.
-I am sensitive to tricky, alternative ideas that look like the truth and I give no room to them. I give no place to Satan.
-My heart is enlarged by the truth.
-Because of the already concluded victory of Christ, I win always!
