Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous.

Making a practice of your new normal as the righteousness of God that you are, means that you can tell yourself “NO”.
Scripture tells us that by faith, Moses refused to be called the son of Pharoah’s daughter(Hebrews 11:24)
So there’s the faith to say “NO”.

In 1 John 3:8, the passage we read yesterday, the Bible says- “He who sins is of the devil.”
Now, it’s talking about the protraction of sin, how often. That is, the person is making a practice of sin.
But remember John also says in 1 John 2:1-2 that, “If any man sins, we have an advocate.”
The operative word there is “IF” but “WHEN” one makes the practice of sin, it’s either of two things;

1. He or she is really not born-again and doesn’t have the seed of God in him.
2. He or she has not allowed the gospel bear fruit in his lives so he or she keeps on sinning.

Listen, if you LET the gospel bear fruit in you, you will not make a practice of sinning. If you can’t control yourself, you don’t need to focus on self, you need to stay with the gospel.

You know, it is love which is a fruit that the gospel bears that helps you see a woman correctly. That when you see a woman’s body parts, you are not seeing something else.
You’ve got to train your eyes how to even see a woman correctly. Some men don’t even know how to look at a woman correctly. You have an abusive way of looking, abusing them with your eyes and your hearts.
So you’ve got to train your eyes. If you see your sister, what would you think of your sister?

Dear believer, let’s begin to practice righteousness because we are already righteous. The consciousness of your righteousness is what makes you practice righteousness.
If you are sin conscious, that is, everything you first think about is sin and how not to fall, you have a wrong way of seeing things and you’ll be sinning all the days of your life.
Look, stay conscious of who you are.

What consciousness do I live from- Sin consciousness or righteousness consciousness?

-I believe in the good news of the gospel, that the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus has announced the provision of forgiveness of my sins.
-I don’t just know the gospel, I live the gospel. I am transformed by the gospel. The gospel is working through me.
-The hearing of the gospel produces the fruits of Genuine Faith, Love for all the Saints and Hope of a Guaranteed Future in me.
-The fruits of the gospel are not a product of my ability but are generated supernaturally.
-The gospel bears the fruit of righteous living in me.
-Because my nature is that I am now the righteousness of God, I practice righteousness.
-I remain conscious of who I am. I have a righteousness consciousness not a sin consciousness.
-My consciousness determines my reality.
-I practice righteousness because I am righteous. It is my identity.
-In the areas where I struggle and experience conflict in my flesh, I have the faith to say “NO”.
-I allow the gospel bear fruit in my life so I don’t practice sin. I stay with the gospel not self.
