KEY SCRIPTURE/MEMORY VERSE: Romans 10:15(NKJV)
“And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, Who bring glad tidings of good things!”

Yesterday, our text(Romans 10:14)left us with a pertinent question and the question was- How will the world hear or believe in Jesus without a preacher?
But it didn’t stop there, it goes on in the next verse to ask- How can a preacher go without being sent?
What this question points out is that being a preacher of the gospel is actually a commissioned assignment. In other words, you are sent to do it. And when you are sent to do something, you function in the authority/legitimacy of the one who sent you.

Think of the traffic warden, so long as he is wearing that orange coloured uniform and standing to direct traffic, the moment he raises his hands, all motorists are expected to obey. It doesn’t matter whether you think he is worthy or educated enough to give you instructions, he is acting on the authority of the government. He has a mandate. And it’s the same for the believer.

You know, we all agree that God is all-powerful and all-knowing but there’s a challenge when we don’t think that power is always available here on earth. Maybe if there were no Christians here on earth, that would be true but you see, the presence of believers on earth is the representation of God’s authority and kingdom.
God has delegated the responsibility of preaching the gospel to the world to us(2 Corinthians 5:18)

It’s so important for every believer to realize this because if we understand that it’s a mandate we have been given, then we will know that inherent in the gospel is the power to save(Romans 1:16). So all we really need do is to sow the seed of the gospel. In Romans 10:17, the Bible says faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word. So once a person hears the gospel, that word of grace births faith in their heart to believe in Jesus as the object of their salvation.

In Acts 10, even though there had been an encounter, the angel asked Cornelius to call Peter to minister the gospel and baptize him and his household in the Holy Spirit. Why couldn’t the angel just preach the gospel to him? It’s because we are the ones commissioned to preach the wonderful news of God’s grace not angels(Mark 16:15).

Listen, if the preacher does not know that he has been sent to preach the gospel, to plant that seed, people won’t come to believe the saving knowledge of Jesus.
Hear me friends, sow that seed to that loved one, litter your social media space with the gospel, slide into DMs if you can. Make that call, send that text.
You’ve been given the authority to do this.
The one who sends a person on an errand makes provision for transport.
So your feet has been adorned, people have no choice but to compelled by the glad tidings of the gospel that you bring.
It’s not a special assignment for pastors.
You are also a vital part for the work of evangelism and God is counting on you.
Use your authority.
