KEY SCRIPTURE/MEMORY VERSE: Colossians 3:1-2(NKJV)
If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.

We learnt yesterday that for the believer, somethings have to come first and at the same time, you are not out of tune with the realities of the now.
But somethings must take priority and relevance in your heart. It should be a no brainer that the state of your heart or your perspective to situations is influenced by your position, by where you are which is above and not below.

The realities of your spirit must be stronger than that of your natural feelings.
I Corinthians 15:45 says; “The first Adam was a living being but the last Adam was a life-giving Spirit.”
There’s a difference.
Many of us are living beings.

Look, set your affection on things that are above. It redirects everything, even when money comes into your hands, you know what to do with money. It feels so good and fulfilling when you give for kingdom, when you give for the work and it reassures your heart that your priorities are right. When you give for things other than personal, material things like clothes and shoes, there’s a peace that comes with it.
Why? Because you are investing in the hope that’s ahead of you. Glory to God!

As we’ve been learning, this hope is a fruit of the gospel. That’s why when you give yourself to the gospel, you receive the right frame of hope that you should have.
See Colossians 1:5-6;
“5. because of the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, of which you heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel, 6. which has come to you, as it has also in all the world, and is bringing forth fruit, as it is also among you since the day you heard and knew the grace of God in truth;”

That word, knew in verse 6, also means understand. There is no unthinking gospel, that’s why when the gospel is preached, it has to be understood. There is no mindless gospel.
You have to understand the gospel because if you don’t understand, there is no revelation.
Another translation says; “…since the day you understood the grace of God in truth.”
If people understood the gospel, we would know that the message of grace is the pivot of what God is doing in this dispensation.

Child of God, to abound in this fruit of hope, you need to give yourself over to the gospel. A seed cannot produce fruit if it’s not planted.
You have to yield to it and understand it. The fruit of hope in you can only come from the revelation that the gospel brings.
May the eyes of your understanding be enlightened. Amen.

REFLECTION
Am I given to the gospel and the revelation of hope that it brings?

DECLARATION
-I believe in the gospel, therefore the seed of the gospel produces fruit in my life.
-I don’t just know the gospel, I live the gospel. I am transformed by the gospel. The gospel is working through me.
-This gospel produces the genuine markers of authentic believers; of Faith, Love and Hope in me.
-I have been raised with Christ and I’m seated with Him in heavenly places.
-Because I am seated above, my perspective is from above and I seek those things which are above. This perspective forms the framework for my thoughts.
-I amplify my consciousness of spirit realities over my feelings. I am from above not below. I am not just a living being, I’m a life-giving spirit.
-This heavenly perspective influences my priorities with money. I am diligent to invest in the hope that is ahead by giving to the work of the kingdom.
-I give myself to the gospel and as I yield to it, I understand it and I receive the fruit of hope.
-By the revelation of the gospel, I am abounding in hope daily.
Hallelujah!
