ETERNAL RECEIPT
10th April 2020
Dr. Phil Ransom-Bello

KEY SCRIPTURE/MEMORY VERSE: Ephesians 1:13(NIV)
And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit

Let me paint a scenario- Imagine you went to the market to shop for food items. You make the first stop at the stall of the yam seller. When you arrive at a bargain, you pay for two tubers.
However, yams can be heavy and you still have some other items on your list that will require you walk around a lot. So you make an arrangement with the seller to leave your yam pending your return. To prove that you have indeed paid for the yams, the yams are marked.
When you’re done getting everything else on your list and you are ready to go, you return to the yam seller’s stall to get your yams.
Don’t you think you’d recognize which tubers belong to you by the mark?
Friends, that’s how Jesus marked us.
He marked us with the giving of the Holy Spirit and when He returns, He will recognize who belongs to Him.

Hear me, you are not just marked. Even better, you have been sealed by the Holy Spirit of God!
The Holy Spirit that lives in you is the guarantee (assurance, promise, warranty, security, pledge) that you belong to Jesus. He paid fully for you and put His Spirit in you as the assurance that you belong to Him forever.

And you must know that no matter how long Jesus tarries, He will come back for the ones whom He saved. The receipt of His payment for you is the Holy Spirit.
Nobody or nothing is powerful enough to refute or revoke your purchase.
Guess what? Your purchasing power is His precious blood, His purchasing power.
Colossians 1:14 confirms to us that we were bought, we were redeemed from the kingdom of darkness, from the nature of sin and from death with His blood.

Let’s see what Jesus says in John 10:28-29;
“I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all;”

no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand.
What an assurance, dear believer!

If the doubts come, to get you to question your salvation, you must be rest assured that you’ve been saved and the proof of your new birth- the Holy Spirit, lives in you forever.
Oh Hallelujah!

REFLECTION
