CALL HIM DAD

KEY SCRIPTURE/MEMORY VERSE: Galatians 3:26(NIV)
So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith,

As little children, most of us are eager to call or run to our dads whenever anything happened, good or bad. From Knee scrapes to gifts to questions, we run to dad to tell him about it. You know, you were confident of His love and the older you got, the relationship has evolved. You know He loves you but you don’t go running to Him for everything because you’ve come to a level of maturity now.

Here’s something to think about though- when it comes to a relationship with God, it is different from the one we have with our parents as adults. We are His children for eternity. We are never too mature to run to Him, regardless of the situation, good or bad.
This is a privilege only God’s children enjoy. To be able to run to Him at all times.

In John 1:12, scripture says,
“But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name,”
Before the blood of Jesus, before God’s plan to bring us into a relationship with Him, through Christ was unveiled, the ability to call God father was not open to us. Sin separated us from experiencing His love. But when Jesus died, was buried and resurrected, He gave all those who believe in Him the right to be “His siblings”, to become children of God too( Romans 8:29).

And because you’ve received the love of God into your heart by believing in Jesus, you’ve now been adopted into God’s own family. His blood runs through your veins.
You are no longer in fear when you hear the name “God”, rather you’re in awe of how amazing and loving He is and the fact that you get to call Him- Dad.

Romans 8:15 says;
_ “The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.”_

Listen, don’t judge God’s fatherhood to you by whatever experience you’ve had with your earthly father. His love is unconditional. His love can handle your mess and mould you into what He has predestined for you.
God wants the best for you at all times. He is so intentional about you. He knows everything that you’re going through and He wants to be constantly there for you.
Dear believer, you’re never too grown or mature to receive the father’s love.

REFLECTION
In what ways or areas do I need to be open to relating with God as my dad?

DECLARATION
– I am born of God. I am His, He is mine.
– I am a SON.
– Because of Christ, I have become adopted into the family of God. I have been accepted in the beloved.
– I am joint-heirs with Jesus, God’s only begotten son, now firstborn among many brethren.
– I have been given the ability to call God, Abba. And I am open to enjoying this right. No reservations, no fears, no doubts. I enjoy a Father-Child relationship on the basis of His love, grace and access that the blood has granted.
– God is my heavenly father and He is pleased with me.
– God loves me.
– God is not angry with me.
– Every day, my life is a reflection of the realities of sonship with God. This is my reality.
