KEY SCRIPTURE/MEMORY VERSE: I John 4:17(NKJV)
Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world.

As we continue to examine fruits that the gospel produces, one fruit that’s very important to note is that the gospel produces assurance of salvation in your heart.
Before you heard the gospel, many of you were unsure of your eternal fate, whether or not you’d make heaven. You felt you needed to work your way to heaven.
See, from the day I heard the gospel, I got peace when I learnt that my going to heaven was not dependent on me or my actions but simply believing in Jesus.
What an assurance this gospel gives!

I John 4:17 says;
Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world
Do you notice that this boldness in the day of judgment is a perfection of love?

How is God going to love you and love you halfway?
Think about it.
Loving you halfway will put you in fear.
If God loves you and loves you halfway, it will keep you in fear or panic of your fate, wondering whether or not you’ll be judged and what sort of judgment He intends to mete out for your actions.
But if you know He loves you completely, it gives you boldness, confidence all the time.
Any child who does wrong but knows his father loves him still, there will be the sense of longing to please his father.
Such a child won’t be able to stand offending his father.

Listen friends, we have boldness in the day of judgement because we have been loved completely.
Loved completely!
This is the believer’s assurance. That the love that saved you and gave you new life is the same one that gives you confidence of what your eternal fate will be. No more uncertainties.
Oh Hallelujah!

REFLECTION
If I am I worried about making heaven, it means I don’t know that I have been loved completely.
