KEY SCRIPTURE/MEMORY VERSE: Colossians 1:6(NKJV)
which has come to you, as it has also in all the world, and is bringing forth fruit, as it is also among you since the day you heard and knew the grace of God in truth;

There’s something so powerful about the gospel and it is the miraculous transformation that it brings to the life of anyone who receives and believes it. In fact, the miracle of salvation is the biggest miracle. That just by placing faith in Jesus, a person experiences a change in nature, from being dead in sins to being regenerated by the Holy Spirit and made alive in Christ(Ephesians 2:4-5).

So this gospel bears fruits in the life of the believer. And that’s why we can’t claim to receive the gospel and not see the fruits that it bears because these fruits show the authenticity of our faith. Just like the fruit of any tree is what confirms the authenticity of that tree, so it is for the believer. If a mango tree is seen producing tangerine, something is wrong and we would need to confirm that it is truly a mango tree.
So there should be certain fruits that people will see and say, “Oh that man or woman must be saved.”

You can’t look at somebody and tell if the person is saved or not if the person doesn’t show you he or she’s a believer. There has to be some outward show in the life of a believer to suggest that he is saved. Nobody can see your conviction even though it’s the conviction of faith in Christ that saves you, because it happens on your inside.
2 Timothy 2:19 tells us that only God knows those who are His.

So, for the believer, the Holy Spirit bears witness with your spirit that you are saved(Romans 8:16)but the proof that your salvation is not mere talk is seen in your fruits. Jesus said we will be known by our fruits(Matthew 7:15-20).
Therefore, if someone says they are of the gospel, it’s by their fruits you will be able to tell.

It is important for believers to know that they have been called out from darkness into the kingdom of Jesus so that they can shine His light(Colossians 1:13).
The faith that you profess to have should show. So as you go about preaching the gospel, let this gospel bear fruit in your own lives. If you see a marketer or brand ambassador for a hair care product whose hair is breaking or not growing at all, would you be convinced about the product? No.

Look, allow the gospel be productive through you. Don’t be that believer who has been saved for so long and yet no evidence sets you apart for Jesus that the world can see. In our text today, Paul testified of the church at Colosse that the gospel was producing fruit in their lives from the day they heard it. That should be your testimony too.

REFLECTION
Has the gospel been productive in your life since you heard it?

DECLARATION
-I believe that only the gospel saves and changes the nature of man powerfully.
-Because I believe in the gospel, it bears fruit in my life. I am proof that the gospel is authentic.
-My conviction in the gospel is not mere talk, I am yielded to producing evidence that is reflective of my new nature in Christ.
-Daily, consistently, the word of grace that I have received is bearing fruits outwardly.
-My life is a testimony of the fruits of Christ and His kingdom.
-My witnessing of the gospel is not negatively affected by my life. Rather, it encourages people to come to the saving knowledge of Jesus.
-Today, I affirm that the gospel works!
Hallelujah!
