KEY SCRIPTURE/MEMORY VERSE: John 3:17(TPT)
“God did not send his Son into the world to judge and condemn the world, but to be its Savior and rescue it!_

Can you tell a child to act like an adult? Is it wise to even have the expectation in the first place?
Can you ask a 6 months old baby to string sentences and speak fluently?
Better yet, how do you tell a goat to bark when it doesn’t have the nature of a dog?
It’s the same principle. You can’t be righteous if you are not saved because you don’t have the nature of righteousness.
But the moment you become saved by believing in Jesus, you are made righteous(Romans 3:22).

Look, believing is not about confession of sins but confessing the Lordship of Jesus. That’s what it is. So asking someone to stop their actions rather than believing in Jesus is like you are addressing the situation outside-in.
You are focused on behavioural modification and not inward transformation. And that’s the wrong focus.

Yesterday, we saw from Ephesians 2:10, that we are regenerated, created in Christ for good works. We are first saved before we do.
So are we saved to live holy? Yes.
But can you live holy without being saved? No.
Can you be righteous without being saved? No.
But can you live righteously after receiving the nature of righteousness? Yes.

Let’s track back to the popular John 3:16 scripture. The Bible says that anyone who believes in Jesus whom God sent, will not perish but have eternal life. But verse 17 goes further to say that the only way the world can be saved is through Him. So the “by believing in Him” is not by confessing sins.
It’s so important that you understand this.

We must settle the conversation of the object of our salvation. We must be grounded in the truth that the object of our salvation is JESUS CHRIST.
And we must also settle in our hearts the issue of how or when we receive forgiveness of sins.
We are not forgiven when we confess our sins to the pastor or when we come to the gospel.
Forgiveness came when Jesus died(2 Corinthians 5:18-21).
Forgiveness is not primarily initiated by the person who is receiving the forgiveness. Forgiveness comes from the sacrifice(Romans 3:25)

Friends, hear me, the state of God’s heart for the salvation of mankind is that woman, man, child, old, young, anyone, will only be saved by believing in Jesus and that by the sacrifice of Jesus alone, we have been granted forgiveness of sins eternally (Colossians 1:14).
If this is God’s position on the matter, then it ought to be yours too.

REFLECTION
Meditate on the truth that we are saved by believing in Jesus and our sins have been forgiven by His sacrifice.

DECLARATION
-Jesus Christ is the object of our salvation. Therefore, we are saved by believing in Him.
-Because of the sacrifice of Jesus, my sins are forgiven.
-I believe that forgiveness of sins is a product of the sacrifice and not a function of confession or change in behaviour.
-I have been given the nature of righteousness so I live righteously.
-My believing in Jesus produces an inward transformation that equips me for good works.
-My position on the gospel is entirely the same as God’s. No additions. No subtractions.
-Daily, I am faithful in the business of soul-winning and I make profit of souls in millions for the Kingdom.
-I enjoy the advantage and dividends of the gospel.
Hallelujah!
