KEY SCRIPTURE/MEMORY VERSE: Revelations 1:5-6(NKJV)
and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.
In the old Nigerian movies, when someone wanted to get rich or wield influence in a battle between powers, the herbalist or witch doctor would ask for an animal to be killed and a blood sacrifice offered to turn the odds in your favour.
In other words, the blood sacrifice determined who had more power or influence.
Do you know what has happened for you as a believer? Revelations 5:12 says the Lamb was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and blessing. What a rich buffet!
It’s the greatest blood sacrifice ever offered. All the sacrifices before the sacrifice of Jesus were never able to sustain the covenant so they had to be offered over and again, year in, year out. But Hebrews 10:12 says the sacrifice of Jesus was good for ALL TIME . Let that sink in.
The writer of Hebrews in Chapter 12:24, goes further to say that this sacrifice speak better and promises better than that of Abel. What the blood sacrifice of Jesus did was all-encompassing.
The forgiveness of sin that you have received (Ephesians 1:7) didn’t just deal with sin alone, it dealt with your restoration to the position you were and even better before Adam fell. You were originally created in His image but now you are seated with Him. (Ephesians 2:6)
There is a connection between your forgiveness and your ability to dominate and control the elements of the earth now.
In Romans 5:17, we see that the gift of righteousness that God’s new covenant of grace brings, now empowers us to reign in life.
The new creation now operates from the dimension where God is. Colossians 2:9,10 tells us that the fulness of God dwells in human form in Christ, who is head over every authority or ruler and so if we are in a complete union with Christ, it means we have the same authority over every ruler or power on earth, sea, air, you name it.
As you well know, the sun affects certain outcomes like plant growth. It’s also significant for light and the influence of the day over the night.
Guess what? Now that you are in the SON , you’ve been given control over even the SUN !
Dear believer, you are an influencer! And your influence is backed by a blood sacrifice that is greater than any other sacrifice!
REFLECTION
How will I live knowing that my union with Christ grants me influence over life?
DECLARATION
I am in the SON.
In Christ, I am now an influencer.
I have been given influence over the systems and elements of this world.
Through the abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness that I have received, I reign in life.
My blood sacrifice is stronger!
I walk in the BETTER benefits and results that my blood sacrifice promises.
Hallelujah!
