CHRIST EXPRESSIONS

KEY SCRIPTURE/MEMORY VERSE: Ephesians 5:18 (AMP)
Do not get drunk with wine, for that is wickedness (corruption, stupidity), but be filled with the [Holy] Spirit and constantly guided by Him.

Ever been in danger of drowning or seen it happen in a movie? Typically, when a person gets pulled out, something happens, he or she starts sputtering or throwing out water especially when mouth-to-mouth resuscitation is given. This basically proves the point that you can only give out what you are full of.

So it is with the believer, once you are grounded in the truth of your identity, it’s a no brainer that you will give out Christ.

Engaging your identity will result in you being so full of Christ that responding to life with any other reality or narrative will become alien to you.

Yesterday, we looked at the role of the Holy Spirit in working out our becoming process and how that our becoming like Christ is not borne of self-effort.
Now, see what today’s text says- by inference, it says the believer should not be under any influence apart from the Holy Spirit.

Think about it, if every believer lived under the influence of the Holy Spirit, every second, minute, day, week of the year, what would our lives be like? Think no further, we would be the sweet fragrance of Christ both to believers and unbelievers. (2 Corinthians 2:14,15)

So the equation is simple, to express Christ, you need to be filled with Him, be enamoured with all that He represents and easily, you would portray Him in your thoughts, words and actions.

Many of us attended secondary schools where we sang an anthem every morning. While it may have become routine for some people, the goal was to constantly point you back to the identity that the school expected you to mirror or express till you were full of it and it started to influence your behaviour.
In other words, it is to the degree that you are influenced by the Spirit of Christ that you will behave like Christ.
So, influence determines behaviour.

It is impossible for the believer to reflect the flesh when He is full of Christ. The flesh is anything that is characteristic of your old man, your old OS(remember we spoke about that yesterday?)

You can’t give what you don’t have. If you are filled with the new OS, constantly updating, there’s no way you will function with the old OS.

In Galatians 5:16, scripture admonishes us to walk in the Spirit, i.e live lives guided by the Spirit and it would be hard to satisfy the cravings or desires of the flesh.

And this is really not far-fetched. It’s in the practical life scenarios like choosing to express love to people you don’t like or people who hurt you. Why? Because Christ did not pay His enemies back in the same coin. Even to the point of crucifixion, He still healed the ear of one of His captors. Christ was showing love in the face of conflict.

You can’t be filled with Christ and be depressed because of the circumstances you are going through. That’s not the pattern of Christ.

Dear believer, the expressions of Christ will have free course when you are filled with the Spirit.

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Christ (See Romans 8:9 and Acts 16:7) so when you deliberately stay drunk in Him, it’s only natural that you express the Christ nature.

Guess what? Even Jesus while He walked this earth was full of the Holy Spirit (Luke 4:1)

Do you want to express Christ? Then stay filled with the Spirit.

REFLECTION
Pray in the Holy Ghost. Drink deeply and stay filled with the Spirit.

DECLARATION
In 2020,
-I see an expression of the million flow amongst us.
-We will win souls this year.
– We speak against calamity. We reduce the incidence of calamity to dashing our feet against a stone.
– My path is interference free! I have speed for the next ten years!
– He has given me my years back!
– I move with the speed of the Holy Ghost!
– I’m making progress! No obstacles on my path!
– I will not die! Nobody in my family will die! I will live to declare the glory of God!
– Cursed is everything that stops me!
– I make advance in the spirit!
– My life is hid in Christ and Christ in God!
– No weapon formed against me shall prosper and every tongue that rises against me I will condemn!
– I enjoy the collision of angelic activity working on my behalf!
Worthy is the lamb that was slain and because of this, I receive;
– POWER: Over natural systems!
I move with the supernatural life!
– RICHES:
I receive wealth that is of national significance!
I receive first time miracles, never been done before or seen before!
I won’t beg for money this year!
No scarcity over the next ten years of my life! It’s more than enough!
I have riches!
– WISDOM:
I have dominion over the unknown! Over uncertainties! There is clarity of thought!
I move into 2020 with clear precision of thought!
I know what to do!
– STRENGTH:
I have dominion over decline and diminishing results!
No diminishing returns in 2020! I will be strong the year round! I have strength because the lamb was slain!
I have capacity! The word of God is my compass!
– HONOUR:
I have dominion over negative vibes!
The mountains have become a plain!
There is no entrance of anything that is calamity in our lives!
The good you don’t deserve is coming to you! That’s the summary of this year for you!
