KEEP THE WORD FROM DISTRACTIONS
11th September 2020
Dr. Phil Ransom-Bello

KEY SCRIPTURE/MEMORY VERSE: Jeremiah 1:9-10(NKJV)
Then the Lord put forth His hand and touched my mouth, and the Lord said to me: “Behold, I have put My words in your mouth. See, I have this day set you over the nations and over the kingdoms, To root out and to pull down, To destroy and to throw down, To build and to plant.”

You see, the potency of the Word is multi-faceted. The same word that builds is what pulls down and destroys and this is why you can’t be distracted.
So many believers don’t know how to keep the word from the time that it comes to the time that it should be applied.
Remember when Jesus was talking about the parable of the sower Jesus in Matthew 13:3-22? Verse 4 says some of the seeds fell by the wayside and birds of the air snatched it.

You see the word snatched ? It’s a distraction so the word doesn’t even have time to grow. Do you know how many things you’ve heard? Do you know the amount of words you’ve received from the moment you received Christ or began hearing the gospel?
Look, if we lived by those words, many of us would not be where we are.
Hear me friends, the distraction in this age is a lot!
And you know what’s painful? Because of the distraction, we don’t see the potential of what the word could be.
That’s the problem!

Because if you saw that this was the potential pf this particular seed, that it would become this fruit, you would appreciate it. So there’s so much distraction, the word comes but at application time, there’s a problem.
The application time is what scripture defines as the harvest time.
Let’s see if what you really believe is true. And this is expressed by what you say, which means what you say tells me what you believe.

If you want to know what is the core of a man, put the man under pressure or pain, he will bring it out. It is not pressure that made you do it, pressure revealed it.
It was there, the tendencies were there and that’s why when you go through experiences in life, it’s good to thank God for them because they opened your eyes to things. You see, situations are really for revelation.
So you hold on to the word of God and stay with it because child of God, the Word always wins!
Oh Hallelujah!

REFLECTION
What does pressure produce or what has situations revealed about me?

DECLARATION
-I believe in the good news of the gospel and my life is hinged on the truth of the gospel.
-The seed of God’s word finds good ground in me.
-I build with the word and I pull down opposing, pre-existing ideas.
-I’m not distracted nor is the word snatched by devices or distraction.
-I keep the words I have received and they grow to application time. I cultivate diligently every word I have received.
-I go through experiences seeing them as tests that affirm or solidify what I really believe.
-The pressure of situations or experiences reveal strength of conviction.
-My harvest time, my application time shows that I’ve been grounded in the word.
-I stay with the word because the word always wins.
Hallelujah!
