LET THE WORD PREVAIL
8th September 2020
Dr. Phil Ransom-Bello

KEY SCRIPTURE/MEMORY VERSE: II Corinthians 2:10 (NKJV)
lest Satan should take advantage of us; for we are not ignorant of his devices.

Have you ever heard a person, sometimes believers even, make statements like,
“God is using this sickness to teach me one or two things.” or “This is the way it’s going to be because it was like that for my dad, for my mom.”?
Listen! It’s a device and it is not about how you feel but about what the word says. If you follow how you feel, you can get into the conversation of being a tare not a wheat.

Your mind has to be steady on the word. This word that you have believed.
Life will not ask you how sincere you were about what you believe because there are people who are passionately wrong. There are people who are sincerely wrong, who feel what they feel yet are passionately off scriptures.
Life will not say, “Oh because you were sincerely wrong, let me cut you some slack.”

Hear me, don’t invest in what is not right. Don’t fuel what is not correct.
It’s my prayer that we yield to the Spirit of truth and we are able to decipher what is wheat from what is tares.
Scripture says that after the devil spoke to Jesus, he left Jesus for an opportune time(Luke 4:13).
The opportune time there was for him to say something else and it was not with weapons or physical attack, it was with words!

Friends, you most impose the word over the wrong concepts that the devil tries to introduce.
May we not walk by wrong concepts and may it not be too late before we find that our concept of forgiveness or prosperity or marriage or righteousness was wrong.
How can God be trying to teach you one or two things when you’ve been forgiven and accepted by Him?
How can you think that you need to work to earn the blessing?
Look, stand for the accuracy of scriptures and don’t go off scriptures for what the world says.

REFLECTION
Does my life stand for the word or am I passionate about the wrong concepts/narratives?

DECLARATION
-I believe in the good news of the gospel and my life is hinged on the truth of the gospel.
-I am deliberate about my thought life. I refuse to wield any thought power to the devil to influence me with tricky ideas.
-I will not be ignorant of the devil’s tricks and strategies. I see through the obvious and I look beyond the surface of any and every idea.
-The seed of God’s word finds good ground in me. I’m not deceived by look alikes that try to sell concepts that are not of God to me.
-The word prevails over my feelings and over popular opinion no matter how passionate or sincere it may be.
-My mind is steady on the word and I do not invest in or fuel the wrong concepts.
-I yield to the Spirit of truth and I am able to decipher between the wheat and tares.
-I stand for the accuracy of scriptures and I impose the word over wrong concepts.
-I hold fast to the profession of my faith and because of the already concluded victory of Christ, I win always!
Hallelujah!
