CHRIST- THE WISDOM OF GOD
15th August 2020
Dr. Phil Ransom-Bello

KEY SCRIPTURE/MEMORY VERSE:1 Corinthians 1:23-24 (NLT)
So when we preach that Christ was crucified, the Jews are offended and the Gentiles say it’s all nonsense. But to those called by God to salvation, both Jews and Gentiles, Christ is the POWER of God and the WISDOM of God.

When we say Christ is the WISDOM of God, do you understand what we are saying?
Like I said yesterday, I’ll define wisdom as understanding or knowing what the main goal or objective is and knowing how to achieve it.
That is wisdom.

Proverbs 9:10 says that the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom, which means that if you are going to come into the realm of wisdom, it starts with the fear of God.
That’s why you see there are people whom I can refer to as “intelligent fools”, they know so much, too much in fact, but they lack wisdom.
I prefer that you have wisdom than to have a boatload of information or knowledge.
Because it is possible to have knowledge and not have wisdom but you can’t have wisdom and be lacking in knowledge.

You see, if you have wisdom, it means you understand the goal of a situation and you know how to achieve it in the best way possible. So wisdom gives you an helicopter view so you are seeing the big picture.
That’s wisdom.

Friends, Christ was God seeing the big picture of mankind’s salvation and executing the plan of the cross to achieve that goal.
Think about it, what else could be a greater or more appropriate demonstration of wisdom?
That in the dying of Jesus on the cross, we are now beneficiaries of the grace of God.
Hallelujah!

REFLECTION
I have come into revelation of the wisdom of God expressed in Christ.

DECLARATION
-I believe in the good news of the gospel. That in the giving of Jesus, I am now a beneficiary of God’s grace.
-The gospel is the grace of God. I am thankful for the grace of God.
-I have come into a progressive revelation of all that the grace of God reveals.
-The cross is the proof of God’s love for me.
-The cross is the highest demonstration of God’s power and wisdom.
-The cross is the reason why I’m saved and although it may seem foolish to the world, I marvel at God’s wisdom.
-Christ is the POWER and WISDOM of God!
-I stay with the wisdom of the cross as God’s only means for salvation and I abandon the logic and intellect of the world.
-I remain thankful for the demonstration of God’s wisdom in the dying of Jesus.
-I amplify the wisdom of God embodied in Christ as the only hope of salvation.
-Because of the wisdom of the cross, I am now a beneficiary of the grace of God.
Praise God!
