TSP DAILY DEVOTIONAL
ONE FAMILY UNIT
22nd June 2020
Dr. Phil Ransom-Bello

KEY SCRIPTURE/MEMORY VERSE: Colossians 1:4-5(NKJV)
since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of your love for all the saints; because of the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, of which you heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel,

In the course of these daily lessons, we’ve come to see that one of the ways the gospel takes root in your heart is when you begin to develop love for all the saints.
And one may wonder why it is necessary for us to have love for all the saints.
Your question has an answer.
It’s because you are connected by the blood of Jesus.
Jesus is our older brother(Romans 8:29) and we are one family unit with God as our father. So our connection is in Christ.

You see, anyone who has a revelation of this love for all the saints will always be moved to pray for/comfort fellow believers who are going through a crisis or persecution whether or not they are familiar with them. You’d pray for believers in war-ravaged countries or attacked by insurgents.
In the early church, churches prayed for each other and if there was news of trouble in one local assembly, another assembly will come to their aid. They may not have met each other but they had a sincere and deep love for each other.

This is why in the New testament, a consistent phrase is One another.
Look, you must always be in that place where your heart recognizes the one another love code. This code is non-discriminatory for everyone who is a beneficiary of the sacrifice of Jesus’ blood. It’s a constant.
That’s why, in talking about the character of the believer in Christ, Colossians 3:14 says love should be your all-purpose garment. All-purpose!

Listen, it’s only a believer who has not caught the revelation of the gospel that can be narrow minded in their expression of love.
This connection in Christ that we share, powers a love that is deep enough to produce acts of love to somebody you don’t know so long as they are believers.
So if you have received the love of God in the gospel, it will show. It’s a public fruit that everyone around can experience.

It’s also important that you know that this love for all the saints is stirred up by the hope which we have in heaven.
Like we said yesterday, hope begets hope so this hope is not a subjective feeling but it’s the endgame of the joys of heaven. So the gospel and it’s characteristic fruits are complete without the joys of heaven.
Your ability to express the fruit of love for all the saints is incomplete if you don’t know that this love we have received will be fully realized when we finally come together to dwell with Him physically in His presence.
One day.
As a family unit.
And as John said in 1 John 3:2, when that time comes to manifestation, we shall see Him as He is.

Oh Hallelujah!

REFLECTION
Because of the connection we share in Christ, I have love for all the saints.

DECLARATION
-I believe in the gospel, therefore the seed of the gospel produces fruit in my life.
-I don’t just know the gospel, I live the gospel. I am transformed by the gospel. The gospel is working through me.
-This gospel produces the genuine markers of authentic believers; of Faith, Love and Hope in me.
-I have love for all the saints because we share a connection in Christ Christ.
-I belong to one family unit. Therefore, I am deliberate in bearing the burdens of other members of the family.
-My heart is faithful in living by the one another code constantly. Love is my all-purpose garment.
-My love is stirred up by the guaranteed hope of heaven we have.
-My love is fully realized because of the hope of dwelling together as one family unit with God someday.
Hallelujah!
