WHY YOU SHOULD WIN SOULS III

KEY SCRIPTURE/MEMORY VERSE: Mark 16:15(NKJV)
And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.

We saw in Mark 6 verse 34 yesterday, the example of how we ought to be moved with compassion for souls. The first thing Jesus saw was that these people looked like they had no shepherd and then He took action to teach them and guide them.
Friends, this must be our conversation. That we have passion for people and are able to see what’s really missing.
Do you remember when scripture talks about the young rich ruler that came to Jesus? He seemed to have everything together, he seemed to have kept the law but the Bible says Jesus saw him, loved him and knew what was missing. In Mark 10:21, He tells him- “One thing you lack….”

So, we must be able to watch out for what’s lacking and point people to their need for Jesus. I once read about a man, Charles Finney, who would weep for souls that had a Christ-less eternity. Same for A.B Simpson and John Knox. These were men who prayed their hearts out for souls and unsaved cities.
Today, we need men and women who would pray for the burden of souls and unsaved cities in their hearts like this.
This is our call.

You know, I realized that the cities that seem resistant to the gospel or seem like the darkest are actually very ripe for the gospel. All we need is someone who has a passion to either go there and proclaim the message of the gospel or pray for a reawakening and a revival to hit the city.
Look, let us rise. There is no telling to how far your prayers can go.

And in understanding why we should win souls, do you know that besides being our example, Jesus also gave a command to win souls?
In Acts 1:8, we see that its the command of the Lord Himself.
So for us, it is not an advice or a counsel but if you are a believer, you have actually been commissioned to preach the gospel and there are no geographical limits to how far you can go to spread the message.
Evangelism should start from where you are, your family, immediate locality and then spread on. As scripture puts it-
“…from Jersualem to the uttermost parts of the earth.”

You might be the only hope for someone to know the gospel so by the wisdom of the Holy Spirit, find avenues to spread the gospel to that neighbour who doesn’t know Jesus. Let your streets know about Jesus.
Regardless of economic status or ethnicity, everyone, sick, broken, healthy, deserves to hear the gospel. Because this is the only way people can come to salvation.

Dear believer, as our text points out, the whole world must hear the gospel. Make sure that in your time, you gave quality time to preaching the gospel.

REFLECTION
Have I been committed to the Lord’s commission as a believer?

DECLARATION
-I believe the gospel is God’s only tool for salvation.
-Passion and compassion constantly wells up in my heart for the lost and I leap at the chance to persuade them about the gospel of Christ.
-I am sensitive to opportunities for the gospel and I am quick to maximize them.
-I am submitted to the Lord’s commission and faithful to express it.
-My committment to the gospel is relentless and through me, people come to experience all the good things that the blood of Jesus has mediated for them.
-I am faithful in the business of soul-winning and I make profit of souls in millions for the Kingdom.
-Daily, I enjoy the advantage and dividends of the gospel.
Hallelujah!
